Tomato plants are done for the year

If you are hanging on to your Tomato plants in hopes they will continue to produce forget it. Temperatures ranging above 90 degrees will stress your plant enough to slow down production and if you do get tomatoes they will be small and basically worthless. So now is the time to tear them out! Prepare your soil to plant something like beans or any other winter crop. August will be the last month of our summer sun angle and the sun rays change allowing slower mature rates on your plants. Melons will do the same everything must go for now and prepare for the fall season.
